Because the dimsum restaurant gets filled up pretty fast, and my dad had an early afternoon flight to catch, I woke up at 9 (ugh so early) and we all had a filling breakfast at the restaurant. Afterwards, we went back home and chilled, then left afterwards again. Mom and I saw Dad off in a taxi, then we walked to the Dah Sing Bank in Quarry Bay to pay for my student visa application fee. But apparently there was a cutoff time for paying visa app fees -__- so I probably have to go there again on Monday before 4PM.

Then I texted my friend Michele that I was free now, but then she didn't reply for a while, so I found a Starbucks nearby and drank an iced mocha while waiting for her reply.

When she finally responded, we decided to meet up at Festival Walk, a mall in Kowloon Tong. I had to wait an hour for her to come because she only left her house when I arrived at Festival Walk -___- Such a pain-in-the-ass friend to hang out with, no? I spent the hour in Page One and Franc Franc. While I was in Page One, I found a cute keychain that caught my eye, and ended up buying it.

a kimmidoll called "Nagisa"

hm hm interesting

Then I headed upstairs to Franc Franc, and rested on a sofa because I was tired and sleepy from sleeping late the night before and waking up early in the morning. After Michele finally got to Festival Walk, we decided to watch "The Dark Knight Rises". I had already watched the film the night before, but whatever, the film was worth watching at least twice. For most of the times available, all the seats were full, except for the front rows. Michele didn't like the seatings we got (3rd row from screen), but it was good for me because I didn't have my glasses then.

With less than an hour until the movie start time, we decided to look around Log On a bit. There were a couple of things I was tempted to buy, but since most of them were from Korea and available there anyway, I decided to wait until August when I fly to Korea.

Then it was time for the movie! The audience this time were a lot more...how should I put it, enthusiastic? They laughed at literally every part that had a bit of humor in it, and they even clapped when the film ended. When I watched "TDKR" the night before, people were loud in terms of chatting and eating, and not laughing at stuff shown in the movie. Some people even brought in beer -__-

After the movie, we went to random shops, then had a small "conflict" over what we should do next. Michele kept insisting on ice skating, and I kept repeating the same word over and over again, which was "No." So we ended up splitting up for a while - Michele went ice skating for more than half an hour, and I just walked around a bit and sat on a bench as I was tired again.

Then we took the MTR to Tai Po because I wanted to buy an alpacasso doll. And tadah~the shop had quite a few of them, but most of them were white. I was disappointed because I wanted to see more colorful ones. I kinda wanted to buy a huge one that was worth 200 sth HKD, but I decided to settle with a small one that was 99 HKD.

Now I kind of want to start an alpacasso doll collection...
Gosh Japan please export more alpacassos to HK
Then we had dinner at Dondonya Shokudo (I think that's the name...), a Japanese restaurant. Thankfully, the line for this restaurant wasn't as crazy long as for the ones in Festival Walk (the line for EXP could almost cover up for the circumference of the ice skating rink there omg).

our finished dinner

omg michele's horrible photo-taking skills

After spending too much time (one of the waitresses gave us our check even though we hadn't asked for it lol) in the restaurant, we left and walked around the mall, then left and went for a walk outside the Tai Po Market station. We chatted, and we were also fascinated by the lightning. And it actually did start raining (which I was so surprised about that I actually screamed lmfao), so we headed back towards the station with my tiny umbrella as our only protection from the pouring rain. Then Michele ran off to catch the bus back home, and I went on a long MTR ride back home (had to transfer lines 3 times OTL).

It had been a while since I spent a whole day outside, which was nice. It's good once in a while to spend an entire day free of drama + TV shows. #awkward ending to blog post

Hang out with Jun Ah

I woke up early today thanks to a phone call saying that I had something from my college. Turns out that it was the documents needed for me as an international student to get a US Student visa. I was super glad that they finally arrived, but yet at the same time, I was so tired and enervated. There wasn't any food in the house, plus my mom had left early in the morning, so I spent my morning hours with a carton of lemon tea and the newest ep of INFINITE's Ranking King.

I left after a while to meet up with Jun Ah in Tai Koo. I was starving after waking up early and not having breakfast, so we went to Crystal Jade for lunch first. What I ordered wasn't very good, but I was starving, so whether it was good or bad didn't really matter then:

the la mian made in si chuan style
doesn't taste so good
Then we went inside to Cityplaza because I wanted Jun Ah to buy me ice cream to celebrate my high school graduation ^___^.

This is what Jun Ah got.
Don't remember the name, but it was apparently some sort of a ice coffee drink with some chocolate.
My drink.
Ended up not finishing this, so I offered to pay it myself.
After spending quite a while in Haagen Daz chatting and all, we then went over to the cinema to see if there were any decent movies we both haven't watched yet. Unfortunately, there weren't any, so we decided to go downstairs and check out the CD store. We also spent a bit of time in the store, pointing out movies and drama we knew (like the last time we hung out). Jun Ah couldn't find any CDs she wanted, so we left the store, and decided to head to Jusco.

While we were on our way there, Jun Ah made me engage in some fail Mandarin conversations with her, because she wanted to practice her Mandarin (haha). When we got to Jusco, we checked the movie showing schedule to see if the cinema there was any different from that of Cityplaza. We gave up on watching movies, and walked around in Jusco. We initially wanted to go find the games corner, but we ended up surrounding ourselves with random things such as stationery, children's books, fluffy stuffed dolls (Hello Kitty, Melody, etc), and so on. I managed to find a store that sold a lot of female products, such as perfume, and so I bought my friend's birthday present there.

360 HKD, 30 mL bottle of perfume that smells like roses
I actually thought of getting her a one of those tiny perfumes that were only worth 45 HKD, but since I'm a quite considerate friend, I decided against it.
Boy, if she doesn't use this daily, I'm not gonna be happy.
Then we ran into some really cute notebooks and diaries. Jun Ah decided to buy a couple of diaries, because she wanted to write in her diary when she was at summer school in France, starting next week (Grr, I am so jelly of her >:c). I got myself a cash book, because I'm trying to get into the habit of recording my income and outgo, as I'm gonna need to keep track of my money when I become an official college student.

Most of the cash books there were in poor condition,
I had a pretty hard time choosing the nicest one.
Anyway, I really like the cover of this one ^__^
Gonna write down today's income and outgo soon~
Afterwards, we headed back to Cityplaza. We went to the Japanese bookstore in Apita after I couldn't find much luck finding the manga I really wanted in the tiny one in Jusco. It wasn't there in Apita either (omg let me cry ;__;). Then we had to take a break by sitting at a empty table in the Food Court; we walked for quite a long time. After a while, we decided to eat some takoyaki. Jun Ah offered to pay for it, as my graduation celebration. Wahoo ^__^

We had to wait 20 minutes for our takoyaki, so we decided to sit in the Food Court, and I helped Jun Ah review for her Mandarin lesson later in the evening. We also drew some random stuff because we were bored:

Here comes the lowlight of the day. This woman who was sitting in the table next to ours, kept looking at us (this part already annoyed me), and she finally opened her mouth, and asked us whether we were Japanese. Jun Ah clarified that we were both Korean. Then this woman decides to say that she thought Jun Ah might be Korean but she wasn't sure because she didn't have a slim face.

Seriously, what the fuck.
Anyone can have a slim face, whether they're Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, European, American, or whatever. Since when did body/face shape prove to be a valid factor in determining someone's race? And plus, that comment was damn rude.

From that point on, the woman further proved that she was some psycho. She kept blurting out things that had absolutely nothing to do with what she had just said before. Like, she mentioned how she wanted to learn how to swim or something, and she kinda implied that she wanted Jun Ah to teach her and her friend...What the fuck?? And she also asked which school Jun Ah was going to, and she immediately guessed, "Korean International School?" Lol, jesus christ. I might as well go up to a Chinese kid and ask what school she/he's going to, and just immediately guess, "Chinese International School?" Seriously. What was up with that woman.

Thank god she left shortly after that weird conversation. Then we had our takoyaki, which was super hot and I almost burned my tongue as I almost always do whenever I get takoyaki. Because we had that takoyaki at like 5 ish, and Jun Ah had to leave at 6:30, we couldn't have a heavy meal for dinner. So we went to McDonald's to get something light (I got chicken wings, french fries, and a Coke - not exactly a light dinner, but whatever).

the takoyaki~
Then we said our goodbyes, and I got home and left soon after because my mom told me to come to the gym as she was already there. The gym was relatively packed at night, which I didn't really like. After the workout, we went to Apita to fill our house with some bread, and I got a birthday card for my friend. And now, I'm here, in front of my beloved Macbook Pro. Bye.

Ocean Park

Yesterday, before I met up with my friends to go to Ocean Park, Michele and I went to Cancer Link and donated 1004.3 HKD, the amount we made from our senior project. It took me quite a while to find the place (Google Maps suck tbqh), and magically, after I told Michele I couldn't find the place and hung up, I found it. Cancer Link is located in a building called "The Center," which is also where a short part of "The Dark Knight" was filmed. Pretty cool, huh.

Anyway, we met up with Anne after making her wait for 50 minutes, and started off by taking the Ocean Express to the Upper Land. The Ocean Express was pretty cool, there were screens up on the ceiling that portrayed clips of sea animals that made it seem that we were actually riding a vehicle that worked in the ocean.

There are what, two new rides in Ocean Park in total. They're called "Hair Raiser" and "The Flash." "Hair Raiser" is basically a rollercoaster, but a much scarier and faster one than the "Dragon," which is still there. "Hair Raiser" was already creepy at first sight because of the clown gate:

see clowns are so damn creepy
fuck so damn long
why did i even ride this
there was no point because i couldn't even keep my eyes open for most of the ride
i tried to
but then when it started going down
i was like "nope never mind fuck my life"
my friends found this picture so amusing that they got themselves keychains of this pic
i don't understand how people can enjoy rollercoasters
they're so scary *shudder*
well at least floorless rollercoasters are scary
as long as there's a floor i don't mind
but floorless
holy shit
da fuq
"The Flash" was much more bearable. But I think I might have been the only one screaming...-__- Basically, it's like a pendulum moving in a complete circle. It's quite fast, but when it reaches the top, it slows down a little, so that you can feel all the weight on your head (yay all the blood be rushing to my braaaaiiin). But the view was really nice, and when we were about to go down, the view was also nice then too. But that didn't stop me from screaming.

After that, we went on a relatively calm ride, which was called "The Rapids," where you just ride a boat. It would've been pretty nice if it weren't for the random people shooting water at us. I got drenched, oh joy.

Even though we had only gone on 3 rides, we all were pretty tired by this time. So we went back to the Low Land for the sake of AC + some late lunch at Neptune's Restaurant. Here's what the restaurant looks like plus what the food we ordered looked like:

A pretty restaurant directly connected to the aquarium. I really liked the lighting as well.

I got cha siu udon. The cha siu looks more like Korean sam gyup sal than actual cha siu...it was not bad, nevertheless.

michele's hot fried rice
anne's spaghetti bolognese
and our mocktails
mine's the one in the middle; "rainbow runner"
anne's tasted the best though (the pink colored one)
dessert.
was so full after this.
the cheesecake was pretty bad; it seemed like too much egg was used.
And after the meal, we just played Fuck, Chuck, or Marry, and did some camwhoring (which my friends got into way too much), which made some waiters turn our way with weird looks. I think we spent about 2 hours in that restaurant. After that, we went to see some sea animals in the aquarium right next to the restaurant.

Then, we took a short break at a small cafe, and then we went back home. On our way home, Michele and I took some camwhore pics together:

Some souvenirs we bought from OP
matching squishy seals
yay
In short, it was a super tiring but fun day.
