Bridal Mask: Episode 17 - Comments
Hoohoohoo, this episode's spazz (?) post starts off with our Excellency~. (Whatever the heck his name/official name of his status is) I've recently noticed Shunji's being hated on a lot, but guys, this dude in the picture is the one I personally hate. He's weak, easily manipulated, and although this guy tries to do the right thing at times, he always gives in. Argh argh argh.
The Kishokai has finally made their move - Rie has easily persuaded Kaka (I'll just call him that) to allow the public execution of Damsari. Grr. This is not good.
Oh god Shunji was absolutely amusing to watch in this episode. The first words he says once he's alone with Mok Dan in that hotel room, is: "Esther, are you okay?" Oh my god, someone hold me. This was too hilarious. It's hilarious because we all of a sudden have the good, caring, loving-Mok Dan Shunji. Seriously man, you're having a huge identity crisis without even being aware of it. You are confusing as hell, but at the same time, such an amusing character.
Oh yes, I also love Mok Dan's "WTF" expressions. Yes, girl, don't give into the good Shunji mode. I had a strong feeling of satisfaction when she just spat at his face. Oh~~boy.
I was surprised we got to know a little bit more of Mok Dan's childhood, and of her mother. No wonder the girl's so tough, she has been through so much as a child, and has been humiliated to a great extent, along with her mother.
Scary, Shunji, scary. One moment, we have the teary-eyed, desperate, and caring man, then a moment after, we have an incredibly hot-headed, angry man. Seriously, what an identity crisis. I kind of want to shake him violently and scream at him to make up his mind on who the fuck he is, but then again, the other side of me tells me that the fact that Shunji is so damn bipolar is also what makes me love Shunji.
I was almost certain that Shunji was acting when he was talking about how he wanted to take his uniform off immediately and go back to teaching Joseon kids, but then again, it was so sincere. We are told in an episode a while back that he put on the uniform with good intentions, and not to turn into some evil mastermind. We know how much he loved his job as a elementary school teacher, and how happy he was while with those kids. It's nice that we get to know he still feels that way deep inside.
I loved this scene. Did anyone else love the way Shunji said, "You will die in my hands."? The tone of his voice was just...ugh, can't accurately put into words. But the way he said it made him seem confident; while all the other Japanese afflicted with Kishokai (take for example Kimura Taro) do not dare to go against her, Shunji is the exact opposite. It's as if he knows that Rie can be easily looked down. Oh, and not to mention, Shunji even belittles Rie for fighting for power. Oooh, buuuurrrn.
Yes, Kang To realizes that Rie is in fact more than a mere Japanese singer. Ahh~let's see how this relationship plays out. (^▽^)
Oh god, the scene that gave me the most feels (ノД`)・゜・。in this episode. Kang To just sits there, getting even more teary-eyed by the minute, while Mok Dan just fails at connecting the kind and justified Young Master with the monster Kang To that tortured both her and her father. I really do understand where Mok Dan is coming from, and it made me really sad. It's simply heartbreaking for Mok Dan to realize that the caring and innocent Young Master she knew turned into the Lee Kang To today, and she would rather that be a lie. Kang To seems to understand her point of view as well, as he can't say anything but "I know I've lived terribly in the past" which isn't enough to convince Mok Dan.
And I also understand how sad Kang To must feel. He really wants to protect her and her father not just as Gaksital, but also as Lee Kang To. He's running out of time. We know Damsari has accepted both sides of Kang To, which is very good (heheh), but as for Mok Dan, it's probably too much mindfuck for her.
Can I hug both of you guys (´;д;`) ugh
I want to drop at least a bathtub full of water balloons on these people. May I?
OH YES YES YES GAKSITAL IS BAAAAAAAAAACCCCKKKKK. OH, I'VE MISSED YOU SO!!
I also thought it was cute how the comrade dude came up and just hugged him. Aww.
The fact that he calmly and slowly leaves the hotel without even a bit of change in his expression, makes me wonder, what is this man incapable of doing? It's like, no matter what Rie makes him do, it's easy as breathing to him. No fair.
Lolololol the always cool-headed Katsuyama's pissed. Well of course he is, he was knocked down with merely three blows by Gaksital. Hehe angry Katsuyama is intriguing~
yet at the same time scary as fuck (Gaksital run for your life~~~ ((*゜Д゜)ゞ”)
The typical two-on-two fight that results in a man vs man and woman vs woman thing.
This reminded me of the first showdown between Gaksital and Katsuyama. It's almost the exact same scene, except this time, it's Rie holding the sword, and Mok Dan dodging it.
Wet Gaksital...is kinda sexy. Kinda. Not really digging the curls though haha.
And omg yes that beautiful two-shot of Rie and Katsuyama. They make a great team together. Omg. But then again, the whole time, I was like, omg, two against one? How is that fair in any way?
Oh, Mok Dan, you are so not one to abandon your loved ones easily, huh? But then again, that's what I love about you.
Another huge shocking moment for Mok Dan. She takes the mask off to only realize that Kang To's the one under it. What in the world?!
Most people are rejoicing that Mok Dan finally knows that Gaksital = Kang To = Young Master, but I'm not gonna be as positive as them here. Has everyone forgotten about Mok Dan's character? She hardly wavers, she's strong, and she believes in herself the most. She probably still wouldn't be able to make the crucial connection of Gaksital = Kang To = Young Master, because she clearly knows what Kang To used to be like, and how Young Master was. She's probably going to yell at Kang To for wearing the mask - why in the world are you wearing it; you have absolutely no right to wear it. Give Gaksital's role back to its rightful and justified person, the Young Master!
Unless Kang To is granted the time to carefully explain how he came to wear the mask to Mok Dan, there is no way Mok Dan will trust Kang To. Seriously, that's who Mok Dan is. She grew up being unable to trust the Japanese or those who support them, so why would she so easily trust Kang To, a man who works under the Japanese, has punished Korean rebels, and most of all, who has tortured and almost killed Mok Dan and Damsari?

Holy mother of god Vicente + BM EP 17 Preview
What in the world, Vicente.
I can't believe I was actually excited that it was a T8 in the beginning. I totally forgot that the windows in our flat suck; there's a gap no matter how tightly you slam the window closed that the water can leak through.
My panda eyemask and Rilakkuma cushion was near the window, so it got completely drenched; I had to dry them elsewhere. And even worse, my CD player (the one that is covered with a relatively dry newspaper in the pic) was sitting in a pool of water. JFC. My curtain was drenched as well. OTL
In the end, my mom just laid down a towel by the border of my bed so that my bed wouldn't get wet. But apparently, according to her words a while ago, my bed DID get drenched. OTL Good thing I slept in my parents' bedroom last night.
It managed to even go up to T10 around the time I went to bed last night. Wow. Never in my life did I expect a typhoon as strong as this. Damn, Vicente, damn.
And omg KBS finally released a preview of episode 17 of Bridal Mask! Woot, looks like this episode is gonna be epic.
Shun Ji gives in to his feelings for Mok Dan (apparently) and hides her. Which pretty much ticks Rie off, so Rie kidnaps Mok Dan. Then she orders Katsuyama to kill her. Kang To on the other hand...I dunno what he's gonna do. Oh, oh, and also Mok Dan finally finds out that Kang To = Young Master. Not sure if she's gonna deny it and still not trust him (which I'm not surprised if she does), or finally give in to Kang To's help. And can I also say that I am absolutely sick of seeing Damsari stuck in that torture room, and hope to see him run around freely outside with his comrades asap.
Thanks to thedamn London Olympics, KBS will only broadcast one episode of Bridal Mask per week for 2 weeks. Great, just great. I bet the cliffhanger for episode 17 will actually be epic, and we won't be able to see what happens next until a week after. Oh joy.

TV + haul
Some noteworthy things that happened on Sunday:
I finally got to watch the live-action movie of Gantz! Hurrah! It was the first one, and the movie was already halfway through when I switched to the channel, but whatever.
I was a little disappointed with the movie. Maybe I had high expectations for it? I don't know. I didn't feel the intensity and excitement while watching the movie as much as I felt when I was reading the manga itself. Well nevertheless, I still want to watch the sequel - Gantz: Perfect Answer.
Then, after exercise and a snack, Mom and I went to H&M for a bit. There I found two really pretty bracelets, and after much time spent being indecisive, I finally bought both of them.
Then we got home and switched on TV, to find that there was a program on UFOs showing. I ended up watching that instead of going immediately to my room and switching on my laptop.
Okay, it might not seem like a big deal that I watched some TV, but for me it is, because I usually don't even look at the TV. All the shows Hong Kong stations broadcast are boring as hell. But today, surprisingly, I managed to watch a movie and a show all on TV. Woohoo~.
Okay, end of boring post.

I think some of the decoration things fell off :/ But this was the better one out of the two that were left boohoo |

Because the dimsum restaurant gets filled up pretty fast, and my dad had an early afternoon flight to catch, I woke up at 9 (ugh so early) and we all had a filling breakfast at the restaurant. Afterwards, we went back home and chilled, then left afterwards again. Mom and I saw Dad off in a taxi, then we walked to the Dah Sing Bank in Quarry Bay to pay for my student visa application fee. But apparently there was a cutoff time for paying visa app fees -__- so I probably have to go there again on Monday before 4PM.
Then I texted my friend Michele that I was free now, but then she didn't reply for a while, so I found a Starbucks nearby and drank an iced mocha while waiting for her reply.
When she finally responded, we decided to meet up at Festival Walk, a mall in Kowloon Tong. I had to wait an hour for her to come because she only left her house when I arrived at Festival Walk -___- Such a pain-in-the-ass friend to hang out with, no? I spent the hour in Page One and Franc Franc. While I was in Page One, I found a cute keychain that caught my eye, and ended up buying it.
Then I headed upstairs to Franc Franc, and rested on a sofa because I was tired and sleepy from sleeping late the night before and waking up early in the morning. After Michele finally got to Festival Walk, we decided to watch "The Dark Knight Rises". I had already watched the film the night before, but whatever, the film was worth watching at least twice. For most of the times available, all the seats were full, except for the front rows. Michele didn't like the seatings we got (3rd row from screen), but it was good for me because I didn't have my glasses then.
With less than an hour until the movie start time, we decided to look around Log On a bit. There were a couple of things I was tempted to buy, but since most of them were from Korea and available there anyway, I decided to wait until August when I fly to Korea.
Then it was time for the movie! The audience this time were a lot more...how should I put it, enthusiastic? They laughed at literally every part that had a bit of humor in it, and they even clapped when the film ended. When I watched "TDKR" the night before, people were loud in terms of chatting and eating, and not laughing at stuff shown in the movie. Some people even brought in beer -__-
After the movie, we went to random shops, then had a small "conflict" over what we should do next. Michele kept insisting on ice skating, and I kept repeating the same word over and over again, which was "No." So we ended up splitting up for a while - Michele went ice skating for more than half an hour, and I just walked around a bit and sat on a bench as I was tired again.
Then we took the MTR to Tai Po because I wanted to buy an alpacasso doll. And tadah~the shop had quite a few of them, but most of them were white. I was disappointed because I wanted to see more colorful ones. I kinda wanted to buy a huge one that was worth 200 sth HKD, but I decided to settle with a small one that was 99 HKD.
Then we had dinner at Dondonya Shokudo (I think that's the name...), a Japanese restaurant. Thankfully, the line for this restaurant wasn't as crazy long as for the ones in Festival Walk (the line for EXP could almost cover up for the circumference of the ice skating rink there omg).
After spending too much time (one of the waitresses gave us our check even though we hadn't asked for it lol) in the restaurant, we left and walked around the mall, then left and went for a walk outside the Tai Po Market station. We chatted, and we were also fascinated by the lightning. And it actually did start raining (which I was so surprised about that I actually screamed lmfao), so we headed back towards the station with my tiny umbrella as our only protection from the pouring rain. Then Michele ran off to catch the bus back home, and I went on a long MTR ride back home (had to transfer lines 3 times OTL).
It had been a while since I spent a whole day outside, which was nice. It's good once in a while to spend an entire day free of drama + TV shows. #awkward ending to blog post

Bridal Mask: Episode 16 - Comments
This time, the screenshots are all mine.
This episode was probably one huge mind-fuck for Shunji. I had so much fun witnessing all that confusion showing on his face as Kang To swiftly explained his reasons for being at the restaurant - to protect the one he loves, and at the same time, to protect Shunji so he wouldn't end up shooting the girl he loves. Not sure if Shunji actually crossed his mind as Kang To was running over there to save Mok Dan, but the explanation is enough to throw Shunji off his guard and confuse the hell out of him.
At this point I was thinking, "Yes, yes, you will free Kang To now, yes?" But then noooooo, he doesn't, he just remembers another hole he can use to confirm Kang To's secret identity as Gaksital.
But then it doesn't work, so Shunji directly asks Kang To how he knew Mok Dan's childhood name, which is Boon Yi. Kang To then asks him directly how he knows that Kang To knew that name. Look at his eyebrows rise as he poses that question, omg.
Damn, one big mistake out of desperation for you, Shunji. Love how Kang To ridicules Shunji for thinking that Kang To = Gaksital just because he knew the name "Boon Yi."
Seriously, fabulous cover up, Kang To. Although our hero isn't perfect and doesn't always have a legit alibi every time he's not there when Gaksital is, he's quite skilled at staying calm and covering up all the holes when Shunji shoves him into a corner. Yup, Gaksital - no, Lee Kang To can't fall that easily. Sorry, Shunji, it's your loss this time around.
Whoa whoa whoa, what the hell was with Shunji in this scene. He suddenly turns all humane, nice, and concerned as he somewhat creepily rubs Mok Dan's arms...Mok Dan was obviously very uncomfortable with that.
I'm surprised Shunji suddenly stepped down from his monster phase. But nevertheless, it was good to see the humane side of Shunji again. He does still love Mok Dan, and would rather deal with Damsari's comrades than with her.
See, this is why you can't hate on Shunji - he isn't exactly a bad man. He does have a good heart underneath, but his surroundings - the Kishokai, his father, the Japanese police, etc - is pressurizing him to behave like a Japanese. Which pretty much equals to catching Gaksital at all costs and not feeling even a tiny amount of pity for Koreans. (Plus, seeing his bro get murdered by Gaksital has also given a huge blow to the guy.)
Loved this scene because it has been quite a while since these two have been on the same side. And by same side, I mean they both wanting either Mok Dan or Damsari to spill the beans so those two could be saved. And the fact that they both know that they both feel that way made that scene heartwarming. Well not exactly, because Mok Dan was in danger of being killed.
Mok Dan was pretty disappointing in the few previous eps, but she didn't let me down in this one. Although she might not be kickass in terms of fighting (as shown through her showdown with Rie), she's tough when it comes to mentality. Even though she was threatened to be shoved into the horrible cage of nails *shudder*, she didn't beg or spill the beans about what she knew. She actually said she would go in there with her own two feet.
When Kang To tried to convince her to change her mind, I felt like at the same time, he wanted to say, "What about me? If you're gone, then how am I supposed to live?" But the strong-willed Mok Dan is in no way willing to kneel down before "these beasts" in front of her. I loved how she kind of opened up to Kang To by actually asking him for a favor: to cover her father's eyes.
Damsari's crying broke my heart. Oh my god oh my god. How could one even think of killing the daughter in front of her father? Seriously, that is way too cruel. Thank god Konno was just threatening the two to spill the beans, and actually wasn't planning on doing so. But still. Konno, you almost made me hate on you in this ep.
That moment when Damsari realizes Kang To is on the same side as him. Ahh, not exactly the moment I've been waiting for, but this is good enough. Thank god there's finally someone from the independence who knows Kang To's heart isn't with the Japanese, and that his heart lies where his roots are. And omg can Damsari stay alive long enough to also realize that Kang To = Gaksital, so these two can possibly start working together or something? The moment Kang To takes his mask off in front of Damsari = the moment I'm still desperately waiting for to happen. Because the way I see it, it's gonna be hard for Kang To to continue working as Gaksital alone, although he did manage to save himself out of Shun Ji's grasp this time. Baek Gun can be a big help sometimes, but he too needs to be careful.
Kang To is in another pinch, as Shunji got to the scene just in time to witness Kang To peacefully handing Damsari over to his comrades. But then I really hope he didn't witness that, and just saw Kang To unfairly being surrounded by three people aiming their guns at him. But then, yeah, that isn't the main problem here. How is Kang To gonna save Damsari? Damsari's escape pretty much equals Kang To's ability to continue working as Gaksital, so saving Damsari is pretty much essential to the plot. But with Shunji, again, on the bad side (awww I guess we have to say good bye to the good Shunji again...), this is another obstacle Kang To has to go over...as Lee Kang To, and not as Gaksital.

"How could I think that Kang To is Gaksital??" Oh poor you, after you went through all that to set up a trap for Kang To on an irrelevant note, the bgm for this scene reminded me of one of the bgms for the drama IRIS |

Kang To: Do I have to say this again? I'm the one who caught Damsari. I've investigated all his relatives, do you think I wouldn't know something like Mok Dan's childhood name?!Boy oh boy Shunji's confidence just fades away from his face as Kang To continues being a smartass. Love how Kang To is no longer being pushed off a cliff by Shunji; the tables are turned now.

INFINITE Ranking King Eps 8~9: Highlights + Comments
This time, I have tons of poorly taken screenshots. Enjoy.
Episode 8 - Part 2 of Fashion King
Okay, I realized now that this Fashion King thing was based more on who could wear any kind of clothing and still look good in it, rather being based on who had the best fashion sense. The pre-rankings were based on the latter, and if the later rankings were as well, then that would be redundant, wouldn't it? So that's why the stylist chose the clothes herself and it was up to INFINITE to make the clothes look desirable and attractive by taking on different postures and facial expressions. Yeah I know "Fashion King" is not really exactly the best phrase to summarize the episode if the entire 2 episodes weren't wholly based on the boys' fashion sense, but let's just move on and not complain, shall we?
I must complain that this episode seemed like a parody of Korea's Next Top Model and I didn't like it because I hate that show. Alright moving on
Episode 9 -Let's see who actually tries
This episode was a test of INFINITE's determination and spirit.
It was absolutely adorable to watch these boys ride tiny cars for practice. Then I started to get jelly when they started riding actual karts; it looked like so much fun, plus I could tell the weather was beautiful by looking at the sky. Ahh what a perfect day to go kart-racing. Omg.
The next episode is a test of courage. Oh my god I used to be obsessed with courage tests and really wanted to have one every summer ever since I was a kid. MEH I AM ONCE AGAIN JELLY OF INFINITE. Can't wait for the next episode!

According to Dong Woo, you should just kidnap a wild animal if one appears in your way |
Again Sung Yeol with the 50000 won ohmygod lawl |
Sung Gyu: Were people born in 2003 as well? Yes yes they were not everyone was born before the 2000's, gyu But yeah it's kinda weird to meet someone who was born in the 2000's |
